Recoverability first — Odoo 19 for British trades

When your database dies on a Tuesday, how many hours of work vanish?

Every business system fails eventually: a disk, a bad migration, a deleted table. The question is not whether we hold a backup. It is how many hours you lose, and who confirms it. A weekly timer restores a real backup into a throwaway database, verifies it, and each result is published here — two drills have been published, the last on 28 July 2026 across 16 databases. It restores the database; documents are not drilled yet.

Backups
02:30 and 03:30
A local database dump every night, and a separate off-site copy every day held with a different provider. Until 24 July 2026 the database only: attachments were not included, and the first backup with documents is the night of 24–25 July 2026.
Replication
Asynchronous
Streaming replication to one standby machine, asynchronous today, with synchronous mode in preparation. Lag alerts at 30 and 120 seconds; the last seconds of committed work may not have reached the standby.
Weekly restore drill
Sundays 03:30
A real database backup restored into a throwaway database and verified — not one drill per customer. Last run 28 July 2026 across 16 databases, passed; two drills published so far. The database only — documents are not drilled yet.

One monthly price per trade package, not per seat; industry add-on packs and migrations are priced separately and shown as such.

II — WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Six facts you can check, rather than six adjectives.

Every line below is a number, a time of day, or a written limitation. If any of it stops being true, this page changes.

i

One price per trade, frozen

£79 to £249 a month, all in, per trade package, not per seat. The price is frozen for the life of your subscription. Annual billing is ten months. No discounts; if the number is wrong, you move to a smaller plan.

ii

Restore drill, one result published

A weekly timer, Sundays 03:30, restores a real database backup into a throwaway database and verifies it; the first automated run was 26 July 2026. Two drills have been published, most recently on 28 July 2026 across 16 databases. It covers the database only — attachments and uploaded documents are not drilled at all yet.

iii

Two copies, two providers, every day

Local dump at 02:30. Off-site copy at 03:30 with a separate provider. Point-in-time recovery from the write-ahead logs, covering the period since 23 July 2026, 15:03. The copies for 21, 22 and 23 July 2026 are missing after a disk-full incident.

iv

One standby, asynchronous today

PostgreSQL streaming replication to a second machine, asynchronous today, with synchronous mode in preparation. Lag is recorded at 30 and 120 seconds. Promotion is done by the operator, not automatically, and the last seconds of committed work may not have reached the standby.

v

60-second checks, then a human

Every service checked every 60 seconds and every result recorded. A repair layer fixes routine failures, re-reads the real state and rolls back on regression. Today only a heartbeat and a disk watchdog notify a human, so a non-fatal fault may sit in the log until the next working morning.

vi

The exit is written down

Full export any time in standard formats. Odoo 19 Community Edition underneath, so any Odoo engineer can read your database.

III — WHAT WE ARE NOT

Four reasons to walk away, and what we say to each

Better you read these now than find them out in month three.

001 — OBJECTION
"We are one person"
One engineer, not a support floor

True. Monitoring every 60 seconds and an automated repair layer cover the routine failures, and the escalation lands on one desk. If your board wants a named rota of ten people, buy from a company with ten people.

002 — OBJECTION
"No reference customers you have heard of"
16 live databases; no paying reference customer

There are 16 live databases on the fleet — pilot, internal and pre-revenue deployments — and no paying reference customer yet. That is exactly why the first ten paying customers pay half price for twelve months in exchange for being named.

003 — OBJECTION
"Failover is not automatic"
Operator-assisted promotion

Replication to the standby is asynchronous today, with synchronous mode in preparation, so work committed in the last seconds before a failure may not have reached the second machine. Promotion is operator-assisted: measure it in minutes rather than seconds, and we will not describe it otherwise.

004 — OBJECTION
"The trial is not a migration"
Fourteen days, sample or partial data

The trial shows you the system on sample or partial data. Moving eight years of history is separate work. The free recoverability review is how you find out what it involves before you pay anything.

What's in every industry package — at no extra cost.

The boring, expensive plumbing that competitors charge for as "premium": we put it in the base price because cutting these corners means cutting your business.

One standby machine Streaming replication to a second machine, asynchronous today, with synchronous mode in preparation. Promotion by the operator.
Nightly dump, daily off-site copy Sent over TLS to a separate provider; the copies themselves are not encrypted at rest, which is being changed. Retention target 30 daily, 4 weekly, 6 monthly, 2 yearly, with 21, 22 and 23 July 2026 missing after a disk-full incident. Until 24 July 2026 the nightly backup covered the database only, without attachments or uploaded documents; the fix is deployed and the first backup containing documents is the night of 24–25 July 2026.
UK accounting UK chart of accounts, VAT, MTD submission, year-end pack.
Fleet restore drill One drill for the whole fleet, not one per plan: a weekly timer, Sundays 03:30, restores the databases we run — not necessarily yours alone — into throwaway copies and publishes the result. Last run 28 July 2026 across 16 databases, passed; database only.
SSL · TLS 1.3 Encryption in transit, on a custom domain, with the certificate auto-renewing.
Updates included Odoo 19 Community Edition point releases and security patches included; major-version upgrades are quoted separately.
Onboarding session One-hour live setup walkthrough with a real human.
E-mail support One working day, by e-mail, from the engineer who built it.
IV — BESPOKE WORK

Direct services from Krzysztof's bench.

Sometimes the package isn't quite right and you need something built, migrated, or trained. The work is done by the one engineer who builds and runs the platform: no agency markup, and no second pair of hands to hide behind either.

i

Migration from old systems

Sage, IRIS, LEAP, Reapit, Eque2, Comarch, QuickBooks, Xero, paper. Data, history, parallel run, sign-off.

From £1,499Per project
ii

Custom development

Bespoke modules, integrations, reports, from a written spec, licensed to you as LGPL source. Built to Odoo standards so it survives upgrades.

£580Per module, fixed price
iii

Training workshops

Role-based sessions, on-site or remote, tailored to your configuration and your workflows rather than a generic Odoo course.

£590Per day
iv

Managed support retainer

4 hours/month of priority engineering: tweaks, reports, integrations, monthly reviews. Roll-over.

£199Per month
v

Integration builds

Stripe, GoCardless, Shopify, Rightmove, Zoopla, Royal Mail, DPD, EPOS, third-party APIs. Fixed-fee.

From £750Per build
vi

Custom industry vertical

Your trade isn't listed — charity, pharmacy, dentistry, education? We'll build the package. The first ten founding customers pay half price for twelve months in exchange for a named public reference; after that the full published price applies, frozen from then on.

From £3,500One-off + monthly

Fourteen days. No card. No catch.

Pick the trade nearest yours, click start, and you'll be on your own instance within one working day. If by day thirteen it isn't earning its keep, we'll help you export everything and part as friends.
