VII — ABOUT

One engineer. Fourteen trades. One published restore drill.

Navigare Space Ltd is a one-person engineering studio. The same person who answers your email writes the code, runs the servers, and reconciles the VAT. There is no sales team and no agency markup — one operator, 16 live databases on the fleet (pilot, internal and pre-revenue deployments), 14 trade packages, and no paying reference customer yet.

THE PRINCIPLES

Six things we won't compromise on.

i

One monthly price per package

Software, hosting, backups, support, UK accounting — included in one monthly price per trade package. No per-user uplift and no renewal hikes; industry add-on packs and migrations are priced separately and shown as such.

ii

You speak to the engineer

Not a tier-one script reader. Not a sales rep. The engineer who built the thing. Krzysztof picks up the email, looks at your data, sorts the problem.

iii

Built for UK compliance

UK CoA, VAT, built for MTD submission. HMRC. Companies House. ICO. SRA. ICAEW. HSE. CIS. We work to these acronyms too.

iv

The same plumbing for the corner shop

Behind every salon's diary sits PostgreSQL streaming replication to one standby machine — asynchronous today, with synchronous mode in preparation — a local dump every night at 02:30, a separate off-site copy every day at 03:30 held with a different provider, and write-ahead-log archiving for point-in-time recovery. Checks run every 60 seconds and every result is recorded; today only a heartbeat and a disk watchdog notify a human, so a non-fatal fault may sit in the log until the next working morning. An autonomous repair layer fixes routine failures, re-reads the real state, rolls back on regression and escalates to the operator, and every action lands in a hash-chained audit log. Failover is operator-assisted: a human decides and switches, so expect minutes, not seconds, and work committed in the last seconds before a failure may not have reached the standby.

v

You own your data, always

Export everything any time, in standard formats. We don't believe in lock-in by hostage. If we ever stop being useful, you leave us the same week — with everything.

vi

Open source, all the way down

Odoo CE under LGPLv3. PostgreSQL. nginx. Linux. No proprietary lock-in at any layer. Your data is yours; the code is auditable; the platform survives our company.

KM FOUNDER · ENGINEER
THE FOUNDER

Krzysztof Moroń — engineer, generalist, occasional tax filer.

Navigare Space Ltd was incorporated in 2018 (company number 11380511) and is run by one engineer. He writes the code, runs the servers, files the VAT, and answers the email.

The product is Odoo 19 Community Edition, configured per trade, with the boring bits — payroll, MTD, CIS, AML — written in rather than billed as consultancy day-rates.

So that's what Navigare Space is. One engineer, 16 live databases on the fleet — pilot, internal and pre-revenue deployments, with no paying reference customer yet — 14 trade packages, and one working day to answer your email.

What every customer gets, no matter the tier.

These aren't add-ons. They're the floor. We don't think you should be billed extra for the boring plumbing that, if missing, would put you out of business.

Weekly restore drill A weekly timer is scheduled for Sundays 03:30 for the database; the 05:00 filestore timer has produced no published result yet. The first drill was started by hand on 24 July 2026 at 21:40 UTC: one client database restored from a 19.2-hour-old backup into a throwaway database, 399 tables and about 25,092 rows counted from the restored catalogue, 3.8 seconds, passed. Every drill since is listed with its figures on the proof page, pass or fail — including the full-stack drill that failed on its first automatic run on 26 July 2026 and passed the same day once the fault was fixed.
One standby machine PostgreSQL streaming replication to one standby machine, asynchronous today, with synchronous mode in preparation. Lag alerts at 30 seconds (warning) and 120 seconds (critical). On loss of the primary, work committed in the last seconds may not have reached the standby. Failover is operator-assisted — a human decides and switches, so expect minutes, not seconds.
Nightly and off-site backups Local PostgreSQL dump every night at 02:30, separate off-site copy every day at 03:30 with a different provider, write-ahead-log archiving for local point-in-time recovery covering the period since 23 July 2026, 15:03. Copies travel over TLS; they are not encrypted at rest, locally or off-site, and the local pgBackRest repository shares a disk with the database — both are being changed. Until 24 July 2026 the nightly backup covered the database only: attachments and uploaded documents were not included, the fix is now deployed, and the first backup containing documents is the run of the night of 24–25 July 2026. Retention target: 30 daily, 4 weekly, 6 monthly, 2 yearly — with the copies for 21, 22 and 23 July 2026 missing after a disk-full incident, so the 30-daily target has a three-day gap. All 16 live databases had a backup within the last 24 hours when measured on 24 July 2026.
UK accounting included UK CoA, VAT, MTD-VAT submission, year-end pack.
SSL · TLS On your custom domain, auto-renewing. Encrypted in transit.
Updates · included Odoo 19 Community Edition point releases and security patches included; major-version upgrades are quoted separately.
Onboarding session One-hour live walkthrough with the engineer who'll support you.
Direct-to-engineer email One working day, by e-mail, from the engineer who built it. No script reader between you and the fix.
THE COMPANY

Boring legal bits.

We are a UK limited company. We pay UK corporation tax. We file at Companies House on time. None of this is sexy, but if you're trusting us with the system your business runs on, you should know who we are.

Two ways to start a conversation.

Either start a trial — 14 days, no card. Or email Krzysztof directly. Both routes go to the same engineer, who replies within one working day; the trial just gives you something to talk about.
